Yoga for Peace has the goal of offering tools for a more conscious life to as many people as possible. We believe that people with greater consciousness can, together, transform our world into a better place.
During August 15th to 21st of 2011, we have organized over 100 free activities throughout Brazil, in partnership with many Yoga teachers and studios. Check out the entire scheduled programming!
Our main activity is a meditation session on August 21, at Ibirapuera Park (São Paulo, Brazil). This meditation session has the goal of spreading peace all over the city and providing greater consciousness to all who participate, so that we can cover the city with peace as a result of our own individual change!
August 21 (Sunday) – Ibirapuera Park Programming
Open to the public, no registration necessary

10AM to 11PM – Prem Joshua Musical Performance
The international Prem band is a living example of the exhilarating Indian music scene and is currently known as one of the best world music bands in their country.
11AM to 11:40AM – Yoga Class
Simple Yoga practice to vitalize the body and calm the mind.
11:45AM to 12PM – Opening
Opening of the event with Márcia De Luca and Fran Abreu.
12PM to 12:30PM – Collective Meditation
This is the activity that inspired the conception of this event, during which the multitude of participants, conducted by Márcia De Luca, meditates with meanings of peace. The beneficial effects of this activities have been confirmed by quantum physics and have reduced violence in the city.

August 19 (Friday) - Performance by Prem Joshua and guests
Prem Joshua, for the first time in Brazil! A multi-instrument player, pioneer of world fusion music, will put together the best sounds that mix Indian classics, jazz, funk, soul e ethno.

August 20 (Saturday) – Performance by Krishna Das and the release of his book “Chants of a Lifetime”
Krishna Das will be on Yoga for Peace once again! He is one of the greatest international names in kirtan music, a Hindu musical genre characterized by the melodic repetition of mantras.

Workshop
Yoga for Peace 2011, in partnership with Yoga Flow Ciymam, will host a deepening workshop with the most renowned teachers in the world.

8AM to 11AM – Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Practice, with Lucy Martorela
Intense and transforming practice in Mysore-style classes with one of the first western students of this method’s creator, Pattabhi Jois. For all practitioner levels.
2PM to 5PM – The Female Power of Cure, by Maya Tiwari
In this workshop, Mother Maya will teach lunar practices to women of all ages, a part of the Ayurveda science. The course will teach how to care for the health of the reproductive system, restart natural cycles in accordance to the lunar rhythm and restore feminine beauty. For all practitioner levels.
7PM to 9PM – Kirtan Class, with Krishna Das
The worldwide renowned mantra singer, Krishna Das, will share experiences from his path of evolution and teach us how to sing mantras so we can make use of their power of cure. For all practitioner levels. (This activity will only take place on August 22 and 23.)
